Member organizations are required to appoint an individual to act as our ACUNS Council Representative. The responsibilities of the ACUNS Council members are to: 1. Represent the views of their member institution to ACUNS and inform the Association of its activities; 2. Bring information and issues for consideration from ACUNS to their institution; 3. Be well informed regarding the current state of northern scholarship in their home institution, the representative position to be taken on issues, and the current state of ACUNS and issues needing resolution; 4. Be prepared to exercise a responsible governing role at Council Meetings; 5. Participate in ACUNS committees and other activities; 6. Keep their institution administration aware of the progress of northern science; 7. Meet with their Member of Parliament to keep him/her aware of the progress of northern science.
